Shirley Thomas Lumpkin
January 7, 1935 - October 9, 2025
Mrs. Shirley Thomas Lumpkin, age 90, passed away in Bogalusa, LA, October 9, 2025. She was a life-long resident of Washington Parish and retired from the Bogalusa City School System. Mrs. Shirley was a simple country lady, who enjoyed traveling and the simple things in life.
She is survived by two sons: Richard Lumpkin and William B. Lumpkin, III; three grandchildren: Shelby (Kayla), Marie, and Hayrane; three great-grandchildren: Sandra, Oakley, and Waylon; three sisters: Agnes Edwards (Freddie), Margie George, and Ada Jenkins; a daughter-in-law: Kathy Crain; and a daughter by love: Melody Pounds.
Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband: William B. Lumpkin; her parents: Seamon and Betty Thomas; one son: Delton Thomas; a daughter: Billie Marie Thomas; three grandchildren: Adam, Delton, and Joel; two brothers: Ilos Thomas and Ellis Thomas; and a daughter-in-law: Sandy Lumpkin.
Brown-McGehee was entrusted with final arrangements.
Public Viewing will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on October 12, 2025 and resume on October 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Ponemah Cemetery.
