On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at approximately 4:58 AM, officers from the Amite City Police Department responded to the 400 block of East Factory Street after receiving a report of a potential gunshot victim inside a vehicle parked in the roadway.
Upon their arrival, officers found one individual with what appeared to be a gunshot wound seated within the vehicle. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
