Press Release from the Washington Parish Democratic Party Executive Committee
Committee Backs Funding for Health, Roads, Courthouse, and Libraries
The Washington Parish Democratic Party Executive Committee today (September 22, 2025) announced its strong support for the renewal of four parish millages that provide critical funding for key public services.
The measures, appearing on the October 11, 2025 ballot, will continue dedicated funding for the Public Health Unit, Courthouse and Public Buildings, Public Roads and Bridges, and the Public Library System. Committee members emphasized that these millages are essential to maintaining and improving the parish’s health, infrastructure, and overall quality of life.
“These renewals are not new taxes but a continuation of existing funding that keeps our parish moving forward,” said Committee President Kenneth Martin. “We encourage all residents of Washington Parish to vote YES on each millage renewal to ensure these vital services remain strong for years to come.”
For more information about the upcoming election and millage renewals, voters are encouraged to contact the Washington Parish Registrar of Voters or visit the Louisiana Secretary of State’s election website.
