The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO), in collaboration with the Hammond Police Department, has arrested two convicted felons for running a drug operation out of their Tickfaw home.
- Sara Hughes, 35, has been booked on one count each of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II narcotics, Possession of Schedule III narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, Possession of Weapons While in Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS), Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Stolen Things ($25,000 or more) along with several unrelated outstanding warrants and traffic violations.
- Stephen Roberson, 58, has been booked on one count each of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II narcotics, Possession of Schedule III narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Weapons while in Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS), Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Stolen Things, and Resisting an Officer as well as two counts of Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Earlier this month, thanks to a tip from the community, the TPSO Narcotics Division was made aware of suspicious behavior at a home in the 16000 block of Johnson Lane in Tickfaw. Following several days of surveillance operations, TPSO confirmed both suspects were conducting illegal narcotics sales out of the home and obtained search and arrest warrants.
On Wednesday, September 17, TPSO Narcotics detectives were joined by the Hammond Police Department SWAT team to conduct that search which turned up a half a pound of methamphetamine, some hidden in toolboxes and blankets, a stolen gun and a stolen vehicle. While Hughes was taken into custody on site, Roberson was arrested at his place of employment after eluding deputies for more than an hour.The TPSO would like to thank the public for their partnership in reporting suspicious activity and HPD for their assistance with this case.
