Linda Jewel Smith Bowie

August 23, 1942 - September 12, 2025

Linda Smith Bowie, age 83 and of Carrier, MS, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at New Country Living where she resided for the last 4 years. She was born on August 23, 1942.

Linda was a devoted wife/mother/grandmother/great-grandmother/sister/friend who dedicated her life to caring for her family and those around her. Linda worked as a secretary for the International Aeronautical LG 776 of Fort Worth, TX. She was a true Texan that loved the Dallas Cowboys. She spent most of her spare time doing what she loved traveling and working alongside her husband, Eugene Bowie (Bow-Wow), for the Shriners Clowns Unit of Fort Worth, TX. In her 60’s, Linda decided she wanted to learn how to play the piano, which was a feat in itself.  Linda loved to dance, socialize, and have her hair and nails done. Her daughter and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she will be truly missed.

Survived by Daughter Cindy Payne of Franklinton, LA, cherished granddaughters, Melanie (Greg) Knight, Amanda (Jarred) Graves, all of Franklinton, LA. Great-Grandchildren, Annabelle, Raylee, Nate, Benton, and Huntley. 

She was preceded in death by husband Eugene Bowie, parents Zack and Jewel Smith, sisters Mildred Milburn, Doniese Ralph, and Mary Epperson. Son-in-law, Keith Payne.

A graveside service to honor her life will be held on September 16, 2025, at Thomas Cemetery. The family invites all who loved her to come to celebrate her life.

Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
