Vita Capo Saltaformaggio 

April 1, 1929 - September 6, 2025 

Vita Saltaformaggio, a beloved resident of Bush, LA, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on September 6, 2025. Born on April 1, 1929, she was a lifelong member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Vita was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She devoted her life to her family and her faith, both of which gave her strength, joy, and purpose. Her deep devotion to God and her love of family were the cornerstones of her life. Her warm heart, generosity, and unwavering faith carried her through a lifetime of experiences, and her love will remain her greatest gift to those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Lucille (Mike) Castine, sons Bernard (Beverly) Saltaformaggio, Sam (Marree) Saltaformaggio, Paul (Paula) Saltaformaggio, and Anthony (JoAnn) Saltaformaggio. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

Vita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bennie; her parents, Peter and Tannie Capo; and her brothers Roy and Polo Capo.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, September 13, beginning at 9:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Bogalusa. The Rosary will be prayed prior to the celebration of the Catholic Mass at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Father Angel Diaz Perez officiating. Burial will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Annunciation Catholic Church.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the care team at St. Tammany Hospice and Amada Healthcare of Covington. The compassion, kindness, and love shown will be remembered with deep appreciation.
