Willa (Mary) Dean Fontenot Cotton

Willa (Mary) Dean Fontenot Cotton, from Bogalusa, LA, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 80. She was born in Ville Platte, LA on March 24, 1945.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her sons, Billy Joe Cotton and his wife Helen Cotton, Bobby Joe Cotton and his wife Christina Cotton; her daughter, Tina Cotton Jones and her husband Michael A. Jones; her surviving grandchildren, Brandon Higginbotham, Stephen Jones, and Jessie Bee, Tyler and Hannah Jones, Mandy and Trent Newman, Kayla and Brandi Cotton, Blake Cotton, Reece Cotton, Megan and Eric Hunt, Emily Phillips ad Ajai Allen, Joshua Phillips, Jacob and Temi Phillips, and Hailie and Andy Adams; her great grands, Brynlee Jones, Zayden Jones, Sterlin Jones, Gatlin Jones, Presley Stafford, Easton Newman, Briggs Newman, Abbyghale Bascle, Willa Ray Cotton, Scarlett Hunt, Carson Hunt, Aubree Cotton, KJ Williams, Ace Allen, Avree Allen, Lux Allen, and Lorelei Phillips, Addyson Adams, and Allen Ray Adams; three sisters, Janell and Darryl Fusilier, Sue and Geary Venable, and Sherry and Van Jamieson. She is also survived by other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Cotton was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Ray Cotton; daughter, Cynthia Cotton; parents, Herd and Laura Mae Fontenot; father and mother-in-law, Lovic and Mandy Cotton; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Joe Freeman; and two brother in laws, Robert and Lonnie Roy Cotton.
A graveside service will be held at the Ponemah Cemetery on Friday afternoon, September 12, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Larry Lassley officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that you make a donation to the American Lung Association in the memory of Billy and Mary Cotton.
