Nancy Caroline Adcox Lawrence
February 26, 1941 - August 7, 2025
Nancy Caroline Adcox Lawrence of Roswell, Georgia, and formerly of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 7th, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.
Born and raised in Bogalusa, Nancy was grounded in her strong Christian faith. A member of First Baptist Church, she was active in her youth with the International Order of the Rainbow Girls, where she earned state titles, and later with the Eastern Star. As a teen, Nancy worked at Fuzz Seals Drug Store in Bogalusa.
Nancy graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1959 and married her sweetheart, Robert D. “Bob” Lawrence, Jr., on New Year’s Eve of that same year. The couple lived in Monterey, CA, and Fort Bragg, NC, before settling back in Bogalusa. In later years, they made their home in Slidell, Louisiana.
She spent much of her professional life working with the Garrick family at Pleasant Hill Insurance and Real Estate in Bogalusa and later at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Nancy was known for her unwavering generosity, strength, and loving nature. She gave selflessly, never asking for anything in return, and formed deep, lasting friendships grounded in trust, kindness, and integrity.
Nancy and Bob raised their children, Allyson and Bert, in Bogalusa. Their twin grandsons, Daniel Ray and James Marshall Lawrence (Bert’s sons), were raised in Slidell with their father and grandparents. For 23 years, Nancy, Bob, and their family were devoted parishioners of Christ Episcopal Church in Slidell.
She is survived by her daughter, Allyson Lawrence Lundquist, and son-in-law, Jon Lundquist, of Roswell, GA.
Nancy’s life was enriched by the love and laughter of her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy: Daniel, Catherine (Messenger), Drew Robert, and Carter Mae Lawrence of Sevierville, TN; James, Gabrielle (Vining), and Connor Ross Lawrence of Ponchatoula, LA; and Austin Robert Lundquist and Taylor Dean Lundquist of Roswell, GA.
She is also survived by her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends—many of whom she considered family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. “Bob” Lawrence, Jr.; her son, Robert D. “Bert” Lawrence III; her parents, Clyde Tullos Adcox and Bonnie Harper Adcox; and her siblings: Clyde Harper “Harpo” Adcox, Mary Sam “Sammie” Adcox Fortenberry, Henry Glenn “Penny” Adcox, and Walter Allen “Butch” Adcox.
