Jennie Warren
June 20, 1935 - August 4, 2025
Jennie Warren, age 90 and a resident of Hammond, passed away Monday morning August 4, 2025. She was a former longtime resident of the Clifton Community, where she was a member of Clifton Baptist Church. Jennie sang in the church choir for many years, taught Sunday School and served on the hospitality committee helping host countless meals and gatherings for her church family. Jennie worked at Simmons clothing store in Franklinton for a time and prior to that served as a physical therapy assistant for many years. She was a caregiver at heart, and even during her last years provided massage and therapy to her friends and other residents at The Phoenix, her assisted living facility in Hammond. Jennie also did floral arranging at Winn-Dixie for a little while and made pretty artificial floral arrangements at her home. She always kept her hands busy, even as a hobby, doing quilting and embroidery. Jennie loved the Washington Parish Free Fair and often entered her arrangements in the Flower Building and quilts in the Homemaker’s Building. She also loved volunteering at Mile Branch Settlement each year and was honored once during the Ladies Promenade. Jennie loved traveling to the beach and had taken numerous church trips to areas throughout the country. Probably her most favorite trip was to Israel with her sister, where they visited Bethlehem, Jerusalem and other historical sites. Jennie was an active member of the Red Hat Society for many years and loved visiting and traveling with her friends. She was forever a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
