Cecil Everett Cooper

May 26, 1957 - August 22, 2025

Cecil Everett Cooper, age 68 and a resident of Clinton, LA, passed away Friday evening August 22, 2025 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was a native of Washington Parish, born in Bogalusa on May 26, 1957. Cecil was a diesel mechanic, owning and operating Cooper Truck and Auto in Walker, LA for many years. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel and rabbit hunting and taking care of his beef cows. He also had a special place in his heart for his pet dog Sadie. Cecil loved watching Gunsmoke and other western TV shows. He also liked to cook out and go out for steak dinners with his friends.

Survived by: 3 Sisters and Brothers in law: Virginia and Rickey Penton of Pine, Kathy and Charles McGinnis of Denham Springs, Donna Loyd of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces and nephews and their families; Special Friend and Caregiver: Toni Bow; Special Friend: Darren Tweedy

He was preceded in death by his parents Claude Cooper and Dorothy Spears Cooper, brothers Claude Allen “C.A.” Cooper, Gilbert Cooper, sisters Peggy Crockett, Sue Cooper, an infant brother Claude Ellis Cooper, Jr. and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Monday August 25th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Monday with Rev. Lenard Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Nobles Cemetery.
