Tropical Storm Chantal: Yesterday's area of low pressure has strengthened into today's Tropical Storm Chantal with a Tropical Storm Warning issued for portions of the Carolinas. Chantal is located about 150 miles SSE of Charleston, South Carolina moving north at 2 MPH with 40 MPH maximum sustained winds. A slow motion toward the north-northwest is expected to begin later today, followed by a turn to the northeast by Sunday night. On the forecast track, the center of Chantal is expected to move across the coast of South Carolina Sunday morning. After landfall, the cyclone should weaken, become post-tropical, and dissipate.
