Tropical Disturbances Today

(Just yesterday, the Tropical Seven-Day Graphical Tropical Weather Outlook said "Tropical cyclone activity is not expected during the next 7 days". Now this! Just goes to show how fast things change)

North-Central Gulf:  A trough of low pressure has developed near the  southeastern U.S. coast. Over the next day or two, this system is forecast to move west-southwestward into the north-central portion of the Gulf where some slow development is possible.  By this weekend, the system is likely to move inland, ending its chances for development. Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, locally heavy rainfall is possible for portions of Florida over the next day or so, and for the northern Gulf coast through this weekend. Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent and formation chance through 7 days...low...10 percent.
