The Slidell Police Department reported yesterday (July 17, 2025) that they have ONCE AGAIN ARRESTED arrested Eugene “Peanut” McKnight for narcotics distribution. SPD reports that in May of this year, their Narcotics Division put the brakes on a rolling drug operation but “the mobile business didn't stay shut down very long . . .”.
McKnight, who was out on bond after being arrested on multiple narcotics distribution charges, was found in possession of approximately 15 grams of Crack Cocaine, 5 grams of Powder Cocaine, and 1 gram of Fentanyl during a traffic stop. McKnight now faces multiple NEW felony charges in relation to narcotics distribution, and also a felony charge of Obstruction of Justice (Tampering with Evidence).
Derrick Cooper of Slidell, who was driving the vehicle McKnight was in, was also arrested on various traffic-related charges, Injuring Public Records, Misrepresentation During Booking, and Resisting an Officer by Providing False Information.
***All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty***
