Irene Cutrer Morris
November 28, 1935 - July 8, 2025
Irene Faye Cutrer Morris, age 89, passed away on July 8, 2025, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. She retired in 1995, from AT&T (formerly known as Southcentral Bell) after approximately 35 years of service as a switchboard/long distance operator. She was a former member of the Magnolia Chapter of the Eastern Star. In her younger years, Mrs. Irene enjoyed movies and was an avid reader, especially romance novels, but in her younger days she also enjoyed square dancing. She was a fan of 1950's music, but her all-time favorite was Mr. Elvis Presley. Of all her hobbies and enjoyments, nothing compared to the love she had for her family, often spending time with them by dressing up and going out to eat.
Mrs. Irene is survived by a daughter: Kelley M. Varisco and her husband, Mark Varisco; a son: William T. Morris and his wife, Mary Morris; one grandson: Billy T. Morris (Heather); two granddaughters: Kayla Krissianna Morris and Wendy Alexandra Varisco Blank (Collin); a great-grandson: Levi Morris; one great-granddaughter: Navaeh Morris; one brother: Sammuel Ellis Cutrer (Jen); three nieces: Sally Dillman, Trudy Ferguson, and Tonya Hubble; one nephew: Chris Cutrer; two sisters-in-law: Georgene Cutrer and Elizabeth Cutrer; and numerous friends that she made along the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Billy C. Morris; her parents: Roy D. and Brillie M. Cutrer; three brothers: Hugh Cutrer, Roy Cutrer, and Billy Cutrer; two sisters: Edna Nadine Bowman and Theresa Eloise Pinion; a nephew: Carlton Dale Pinion; her father and mother-in-law: Kennit C. and Cecil H. Morris; and one brother-in-law: Donald R. Morris.
Services will be on July 11, 2025 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Public Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Hillview Cemetery in Bogalusa.
