Medicaid Millionaire from Slidell Arrested

Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) arrested 35 year-old Candace Taylor of Slidell for Government Benefits Fraud on Monday (July 28, 2025)

Special Agents assigned to the LBI received a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Health in reference to Taylor allegedly committing Medicaid Recipient Fraud. The complaint alleged that Taylor underreported her income in order to receive Medicaid benefits.

The affidavit states that between January 2020 and December 2024, Taylor's multiple businesses collectively generated over $9.5 million in revenue across various accounts controlled by her. And in 2020, despite being approved for Medicaid and claiming to possess no income, records reveal Taylor's account recorded deposits of more than $480,000, more than $45,000 in vehicle payments to Audi Finance, multiple six-figure withdrawals via cashier's checks to fund property purchases, cosmetic surgery, high-end jewelry, and luxury services. Along with a $100,000 wire transfer to an exotic car dealership, followed by a $13,000 debit card transaction for the acquisition of a 2022 Lamborghini Urus.

In 2024, just two months after the purchase of the Lamborghini, Taylor contacted LDH to renew her Medicaid benefits, alleging the income of $2,000 per month, while omitting the fact that she was a business owner. Arrest records also show that agents saw several social media posts made by Taylor on Facebook and Instagram highlighting her luxury acquisitions.
