This is another case of young people with guns and drugs. Plus, one (the 18 year-old) already had numerous felony warrants and the other two were already on parole and all three identified as gang members. This was in Hammond, where we have children and grandchildren going to school and family working and shopping. But it is not just Hammond, we live in a dangerous world!
On July 15, 2025, the Hammond Police Department Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop, which identified Brennon Thompson, 18 years old of Hammond, as a passenger. Thompson held numerous felony warrants. The vehicle was also occupied by Dejon Warner, 24 years old of Hammond, and Jacorey Brumfield, 23 years old of Hammond.
The HPD Narcotics Division and Street Crimes Unit arrived to assist. Thompson was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Found were
- a Anderson Manufacturing assault rifle pistol, loaded with a round in the chamber and a magazine containing 8 rounds,
- a Glock 19 handgun, loaded with a round in the chamber and a magazine containing 17 rounds, reported stolen
- 2 clear bags containing suspected marijuana
- Digital scale
All three men were identified as members of a gang based in Hammond that calls itself “Most Turnt Youngins” or “MTY”. Warner and Brumfield were found to be on parole for multiple weapon charges and also placed under arrest. The three men were then transported to the Hammond City Jail for booking.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty
