The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office advised at 1:30 AM this morning (June 6, 2025) that 42 year-old Donald Ray Wilson is in custody.
Wilson, a work release inmate who walked off a job site Thursday (June 5, 2025), was in a program that allows select Department of Corrections inmates to work jobs with partner businesses outside of the jail. Wilson is serving time for a Parole Violation as a Convicted Felon in Possession of A Firearm.
Details about the capture will be provided in a update later this morning.
Update: Donald Ray Wilson was located hiding in a shed off of Barnes Road in Ponchatoula and was taken into custody without incident after midnight Friday (June 6, 2025) morning. Sheriff Gerald Sticker would like to thank the public for their patience, cooperation and support during this search and investigation.
