Selvage Melene Story McCain
May 7, 1961 - June 26, 2025
Selvage Melene Story McCain, age 64 and a resident of Pine, passed away Thursday morning June 26, 2025. She worked at and later managed Dad’s Donuts in Franklinton for many years. Selvage most recently attended Apostolic Jesus Name Church near Lexie, MS but also attended other churches in Washington Parish through the years. She was a loving person and took excellent care of her grandchildren when it suddenly became her primary responsibility. Selvage enjoyed spending time with her big family, visiting, picking and even sometimes arguing, but her family was always the most important thing to her.
Survived by: Grandsons: William Samuel Lee Scott, Richard Louis Thomas Scott, Owen Patrick Montgomery Scott, Noah Edward Reece Scott; Granddaughter: Odiella Rebecca Grace Scott; Sister: Shira Story; 4 Brothers and Sisters in law: Rev. Bobby W. Story, Jr. and Robin Story, Rev. Cleveland Edward Story and Shelley Story, Glen Story, Dennis Story; Brother in law and Sisters in law: Sidney and Shelia Cotton, Kathleen Phelps; Special Cousin: Darlene Jenkinsl; Also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews and their families
She was preceded in death by her daughter and son in law Triston Loyette McCain Scott and Calvin Lee Scott, husband William Junior McCain, parents Bobby Winfred Story, Sr. and Ella Laseter Story, mother in law Mamie McCain, father in law William Eugene Turnage, sister in law Bonita Phelps, brothers in law Glenn Phelps, Charles Phelps, J.W. Cox, Simon Cotton, brother in law and sister in law Tommy and Jessie Mae Cox, sister in law and brother in law Lillie and Floyd Starks and other family members
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday June 30th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Monday with Rev. Patrick Miller, Rev. Jeff Eads and Rev. Bryan Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushing Cemetery in Tylertown, MS.
