Robert Wayne Knight
February 28, 1951 - June 22, 2025
Robert Wayne Knight, born February 28, 1951, in Bogalusa, Louisiana passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Known to all as Wayne, he was a master contractor in the Commercial Sheetrock trade, but was a better fisherman, and loved sports of all kinds, being an avid LSU Tigers fan. “How bout dem Tigers, boy!” He was a well-beloved member of his community, known to many as “Skeeter,” and could often be found on the ball field coaching and umpiring in his free time. He loved all things seafood and was always on hand with a glass bottle “Coke-Coler,” Moon Pie or Yoo-Hoo, and don’t let a green pea touch his plate. He was also a member of Love Missionary Church of Bogalusa, LA.
Wayne is survived by his son, Terrell (Amy) Knight and daughter, Marlena Knight, as well as his bonus children, Ann Marie Carroll, Kermit Little and Wendy (Scott) Graham, grandchildren Skyler Knight, Raina (Blake) Roberts, Ava, Abigail, Benjamin and Annabelle Knight, Brittany Carroll, Brandon (Katrina) Carroll, Bryan Carroll, Kelsey (Derrick) Knight, Ashley Little, Katie (Alex) Ruiz, Tyler Graham, Alyssa (Steven), and Peyton Graham, 11 great grandchildren as well as sisters, Sherry Amacker and Gayle Passman, and brother, Pete (Tammy) Knight and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Ellouise (Polk) Knight, and his sister, Patricia Bingham.
Services will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA 70427) on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 11:00 am until services, Thursday at the funeral home.
