On June 12, 2025, Kristina Jeanette Smith, age 38 and of Bogalusa, was arrested by the Bogalusa Police Department and charged with Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Suspended Driver’s License, and Turning Right on Red when prohibited.
The incident began with a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Officers determined that the driver’s license was suspended. As the investigation continued, officers observed suspected illegal narcotics inside the vehicle which led to a search of the vehicle. Officers subsequently located an amount of MDMA (Ecstasy) as well as other items associated with the illegal sale of narcotics inside the vehicle.
“This is an example of proactive police work that resulted in dangerous drugs being taken off the streets. I commend these officers for the work they do to keep our city safe” Chief James Smith.
