WASHINGTON PARISH (June 27, 2025) – State Fire Marshal (SFM) deputies arrested a Bogalusa man on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, for setting fire to an occupied home. Joshua David Patterson, age 32, has been charged with Aggravated Arson.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday (June 25, 2025), the Bogalusa Fire Department responded to a fire in the 800 block of Avenue G in Bogalusa. The home’s occupant escaped the fire unharmed. However, the suspect was treated and released from the hospital for burns to an arm and leg and for carbon monoxide poisoning.
Following a request for SFM deputies to investigate the fire, it was determined the fire was intentionally set. Through the investigation, Patterson was identified as the suspect.
