Virginia "Jeannie" Guy
November 14, 1957 - May 7, 2025
Virginia “Jeannie” Guy, age 67 and resident of Franklinton, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by her family on May 7, 2025. She was a member of Clifton Baptist church. She worked various jobs through the years. For the last 20 years, she was a dedicated receptionist for ARM Insurance. She liked spending her extra money on craft supplies. Her favorite stores were Hobby Lobby and the Dollar Tree. She always had some new decor she crafted for her family to enjoy. If she wasn’t making home decor, she was scrapbooking. Jeannie had a gift of decorating and changed the decorations for every holiday or event. She especially enjoyed decorating for Easter and Christmas. If she wasn’t crafting or scrapbooking, she was antiquing!
She loved to spend time browsing antique stores looking for that special piece! Jeannie loved watching her two favorite TV shows, Golden Girls and M.ASH. Above all, what she enjoyed most was sitting on the porch, drinking Community coffee, and visiting with her dearly loved family. There was nothing she valued more than her family, and she was sure to tell them every day that she loved them to the moon and back! Her fun-loving, happy personality will be remembered most.
Jeannie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Guy, her daughter and son in law Amanda and Slade Bateman of Franklinton, son and daughter in law Andy and Ashley Guy of Mount Hermon, grandchildren Hunter Bateman and his fiancee, Jill and Maicee Bateman, great granddaughters Emberlee and Stevee Batman, brother in laws and sister in laws Tommy and Cindy Guy, and Jerry and Sheila Guy and their families.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her son Joshua A. Guy, father Leon H. Dykes, Rosetta Miller and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Riverside Medical Center and St. Tammany Parish Hospital for the wonderful care given to Jeannie. The care provided to the Guy family is truly appreciated and will be remembered always.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday, May 9, 2025 beginning at 10:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm. with Brother Mike Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Hezekiah Magee Cemetery.
