Franklinton PD: Angie Driver Rams Police Vehicle (Twice), Leads Officers on High-Speed Chase

Franklinton Police Chief Justin Brown reported late Monday (May 12, 2025) evening that FPD received a call reporting an erratic or dangerous driver approaching the Town.

FPD officers located the vehicle at the Hi-Way-Pak and, upon attempting to make contact with the driver (later identified as 35 year-old Amy McSween of Angie), she proceeded to ram a FPD vehicle with her vehicle.

Following the initial ramming, McSween led officers on a high speed chase down Hwy 16 and then  decided to run into the back of the same police vehicle she had just hit in the front.

In order to prevent Ms. McSween from endangering the public any further, FPD officers performed a P.I.T. Maneuver to stop the vehicle. (The PIT maneuver, also known as the Precision Immobilization Technique or Tactical Vehicle Intervention, is a law enforcement tactic used to stop a fleeing vehicle by forcing it to spin out and come to a stop.)

Amy McSween now finds herself in the Washington Parish Jail on the charges of Aggravated Flight From an Officer, Aggravated Assault With a Vehicle on an Officer, Aggravated Obstruction of Commerce/Roadway, Intentional Littering, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and Contempt of Court. Bond has been set at $152,500.00. (Picture at right is booking photo)

Chief Brown characterized the incident as “idiotic, dangerous and stupid. The many lives that were put at risk during this foolishness is atrocious. I hope her eventual punishment matches the damage she has done and she spends a lengthy period of time, confined, where she can dwell on it.”
