Washington Parish Youth Coalition Celebrates a Decade of Prevention and Purpose

The Washington Parish Youth Coalition marked a significant milestone this past Saturday, celebrating 10 years of dedicated prevention work with an inspiring and festive event at the Franklinton High School Gymnasium. Over 100 attendees gathered to commemorate the coalition’s decade-long commitment to empowering youth and promoting a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle.

The celebration was a vibrant mix of fun and purpose, featuring games, entertainment, and delicious food alongside impactful messages of prevention and resilience. The highlight of the day came from keynote speaker Jake White, founder of Vive 18 in Arizona, who energized the crowd with his powerful message. White encouraged students to “stand up and stand out” in their fight against substance abuse, calling on youth to be leaders in their schools and communities.

Adding to the spirit of encouragement and civic responsibility, Washington Parish Sheriff Jason Smith and Louisiana State Senator Beth Mizell addressed the students, applauding their efforts and challenging them to continue being a force for positive change throughout the parish.

ADAPT, Inc., the organization behind the Washington Parish Youth Coalition, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the day memorable. Visit and like  ADAPT'S Facebook page

As the coalition embarks on its next chapter, the message is clear: prevention, empowerment, and unity will continue to light the path forward for the youth of Washington Parish.
