Tommy Dale Smith
February 2, 1948 - April 14, 2025
Tommy Dale Smith, age 77 and a resident of Bush, passed away early Monday morning April 14, 2025 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was born in Denham Springs on February 2, 1948 to the late Earmon and Alice Smith, and grew up in the Baton Rouge area before the family moved to Mount Hermon. Tommy graduated from Mt. Hermon High School then served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as an electrician with Sundowner Offshore Services for many years before retiring. Tommy also served with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office as a Corporal in the parish jail for about ten years. He had a love of horses and Ford Mustangs. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing and boating and was an avid hunter. Other hobbies included drawing, painting, wood-working and carvings. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Nicole and Stephen Landry; Son and Daughter in law: Jason and June Smith; Grandchildren: Tori Smith, Eli Dickerson, Mitchell Dickerson, Samantha Lew; Great-grandsons: Phoenix, Nash, Colt; Sister and Brother in law: Zandra and Jim Zenner; Brother and Sister in law: Charles and Judy Smith; Brother in law: Keith Dickerson; Sister in law: Katherine Williams; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Barbara Lee Dickerson Smith, an infant son, parents Earmon Smith and Alice Miller Smith, brothers and sisters in law Jerry and Izelle Smith, Larry and Dottie Smith, brother Perry Smith, sister and brother in law Linda and Charles Maples, sister in law Sherry Hartfield, nephew Dwayne Maples, niece Tammy Maples and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday April 19th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Saturday with Rev. Walter Mixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Bonner Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
