Michael Wade Roy

December 31, 1961 - March 31, 2025

Michael Wade Roy, age 63, passed away Monday night March 31, 2025. He was a longtime resident of Picayune, Mississippi after growing up in Avondale, Louisiana and graduating from John Ehret High School in 1979. Michael began working on tugboats and spent time with Winn-Dixie before beginning a long career as a truck driver. He drove for various companies for 32 years and went by the CB handle “Road Rat” or just “Rat” to his friends and co-workers. Michael was proud to have obtained over 2 million miles of transport before retiring. He was a member of House of Refuge church in Picayune. Michael always loved fishing and spending quality time with his family, niece, nephews and their families.

Survived by: Step-son: Daylin Bedwell and his family; Brother: Charles Roy; 2 Sisters and Brothers in law: Monica and Brad Heckler, Maxine and James Campbell; Nephews and a Niece: Kyle Roy, Aaron Heckler, Matthew Heckler, Sarah Campbell; Also numerous beloved great-nephews and a great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Bedwell Roy, father Harold Anthony Roy, mother Lois Noel Roy Smith and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Friday April 4th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Friday with Rev. Brad Hesner officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Cemetery.
