Obituary

Deidra Munn Morello

August 9, 1977 - April 21, 2025

Deidra Munn Morello, age 47, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on April 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A fierce warrior at heart, Deidra battled stage four breast cancer with unmatched courage and grace, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering spirit, warm smile, and infectious sense of humor remained steadfast even in the face of adversity, reminding us all of the power of resilience and love.

Deidra’s life was a tapestry of compassion woven through her role as a dedicated surgical tech. She opened not just her hands, but her heart to patients, friends, family, and even strangers, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. Her charismatic personality lit up every room, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. The world has lost a true gem, and her radiant spirit will be forever cherished by those who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Frankie Morello; her two sons, Frankie Morello, Jr. and Anthony Morello; her five beloved daughters, Brittany Henry, Celeste Henry-Hamann (Nate), Ariel Spino (Gabriel), Ava Holmes, and Addison Morello; and her five cherished grandchildren, Aurora, Makoto, Genesis, Steffan, and Lucas. Deidra also leaves behind her two grandpups, Pepper Morello and Jade Spino; her loving mother and step-father, Cheryl and Angelo Morales; her father and step-mother, Peter and Carol DiBenedetto; her brother, Richard DiBenedetto (Claire); and countless others—including children who lovingly called her “mom”—all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

Deidra is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Wilfred and Katherine Munn, and Angel and Herlinda Morales; and two uncles, Harvey McMurray and David Collins. She is also preceded by her aunts, Barbara Munn and Mary Knight (Shelton), and her cousin, Warren Davis.

In celebration of Deidra’s remarkable life, family and friends are invited to gather for her funeral services. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, beginning at 10 AM in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, where all will have the chance to honor and reflect on her legacy. The service will commence at 12 PM, officiated by Pastor James “Jimmy” Jeffries. Following the service, loved ones will warmly escort her to her final resting place at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Varnado, LA.

In this time of sorrow, let us also rejoice in the beautiful memories we shared with Deidra, finding solace in her laughter, strength, and unyielding spirit. She may have left this world, but her legacy of love and light will remain forever in our hearts.
