Robert Steve Lee
January 19, 1960 - April 8, 2025
Robert Steve Lee, age 65, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 8, 2025. He was a resident of Venice, LA for 45 years and had been a resident of Franklinton for the last 20 years. Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy. Children and spouses, Baretta (Tejay), Stevie (Todd), and Hope (Tucker). Grandchildren, Brady, Tayte, Harper, Aubree, Charlee, Brody, Brayden and Hadleigh. Siblings and spouses, Mona (Boogie), Lorri (Tracey), Holly (Bud), and Jeromy (Kayla). Godchildren Corey and Brock.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Rosemary Lee and a brother Jonathan Lee.
Steve graduated from Boothville-Venice High School. He was employed with the U.S. Army-Corps of Engineers for over 40 years. Steve was a member of New Life Ministries, where he served as associate pastor for over 30 years. Every spring he loved to plant a garden. In his garden was where he gave his life to Jesus, many years ago. If you knew him, you knew this testimony. He made sure to share it any chance he had. Steve always said that God spoke to him, saying “You serve me, and I will serve you. You be faithful to me, and I will be faithful to you”. He was a man of strong faith and no matter what he went through in life, his faith never wavered. He loved hunting, fishing, watching LSU sports and camping with his family and friends. Steve was an awesome cook that never followed a recipe because then he could not make it his own. He loved history. Whether it was learning about past wars or the life story of someone he just met. Most of all, he loved his dogs. He never had to go looking for dogs, dogs came looking for him. Once they found him, they never left, and he was okay with that.
Steve will be missed by all who knew him.
A service celebrating Steve’s life will be held Saturday May 3, 2025 at New Life Ministries (21526 Hwy. 16, Amite, LA). Visitation begins at 9:00 am for family and 10:00 am for friends followed by the memorial service at 11:00 am with Pastor Donal Chance, Jr. officiating.
