Pedestrian in Fatal Slidell Accident Identified

St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Christopher Tape has positively identified the man killed in a collision in Slidell on Sunday (March 16, 2025) morning as 27 year-old Trevor Carter of Clearwater, Florida. The Slidell Police Department is handling the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Carter was walking around midnight in a dimly lit area on Highway 190 and wearing dark-colored clothing. For reasons still under investigation, the pedestrian was struck by a 2016 Chrysler 200, which was traveling westbound on Highway 190. Despite live-saving efforts, Carter succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

As part of the investigation, chemical testing was performed on the operator of the Chrysler 200. At this time, impairment is not suspected to be a contributing factor in the collision. Blood samples were also taken of the deceased, and toxicology is pending.
