Wesley D. Taylor

July 8, 1949 – March 25, 2025

Wesley D. Taylor, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, went home to glory on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the age of 75. He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to James and Lorraine Miley Taylor. Wesley was an extraordinary husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a hardworking provider for his family and was a Godfearing man who loved spending time with his loved ones. Fishing and hunting were his passion before he found his love for writing Contemporary Christian songs and playing his guitar. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Juanita Jarrell Taylor; a daughter, Sabrina Taylor Deschamp; a son, Edward Taylor; two sisters, Patsy Martin and her husband Edsel and Laretta McCain; and a brother, Vernon Taylor. 

Wesley is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Taylor of Pass Christian, MS; three daughters, Fawn McDonnell, Tiffany Taylor both of Pass Christian, MS and Marie (Ben) Smith of Gulfport, MS; two sons, Kenneth (Alta) Borries of Pass Christian, MS and Ricky (Rachel) Borries of Pascagoula, MS; two sisters, Bernice (James) Miller of Angie, LA and Lillie Mae Taylor of Jeffersonville, IN; two brothers, Douglas (Elvie) Taylor of Angie, LA and Sidney (Paula) Taylor of Foxworth, MS; a brother-in-law, A.C. McCain of Angie, LA; eighteen grandchildren, Briant (Bridgett) Deschamp, Garrett Deschamp, Cheyenne Gardner, Jasmyn (Clint) Rains, Austin McDonnell, Cole (Ericka) Taylor, Kolyn Braun, Haleigh Braun, Ava Borries, Tristan Borries, Dyanna Miles, Sylora Borries, Lindynn Smith, Haiden Smith, Kaiden Smith, Parker Smith, Leland Grier, and Caija Grier; five great-grandchildren, Jaxton Deschamp, Knox Deschamp, Aubree Deschamp, Maylee Deschamp, and Lylah Jo Deschamp; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate Wesley’s life at Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 2:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00pm until service time. The service will be officiated by Reverend Sam Parker. He will be laid to rest in the Taylor Family Cemetery assisted by Cole Taylor, Austin McDonnell, Kenneth Borries, Nathan Taylor, Timothy Martin, Dillon Ranes, Dalton Ranes, and Jeremy Simmons serving as pallbearers.
