Martin Kemp Blackwell
March 13, 1956 - March 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin Kemp Blackwell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Martin passed away Friday March 28, 2025 at the age of 69. He was born March 13, 1956 in Bogalusa to the late Jack and Mildred Blackwell. He was one of five children that grew up in the Bonner Creek area. Martin was a “Jack of All Trades” with a passion for woodworking and a love for all animals, especially his pet dogs and cats. He was a crane operator for the Army Corps of Engineers for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Reba Crouch Blackwell, 3 sons and daughters in law Justin and Rupa Blackwell, Trey and Marlina Keele, Adam and Macie Perez, 4 daughters and a son in law Bridget Blackwell, Shannon and Chris Fontan , Dehlia Blackwell, Marisa Dunaway Blackwell. Eight grandchildren Jordan, Abbey, Maddie, Maya, Kingston, Avery, Kennedy, Jack, Malaya and Mindaya. Two sisters and a brother in law Laurie Veith, Ginger and Woody Persick. Great-uncle and aunt Frank “Bozy” and Hester Mizell. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack Calvin Blackwell and Mildred Mizell Blackwell, 2 brothers Calvin Blackwell, Joey Blackwell and other family members.
Visitation will be at Plainview Baptist Church (55179 Hwy 60, Bogalusa) on Tuesday April 1st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Scott Breland officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery near Folsom.

Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
