Franklinton Police Investigating Shooting Near Schools

On Tuesday (March 18, 2025), the Franklinton Police Department began investigating a report of shots fired on Hilltop Drive, approximately two blocks from both Franklinton Primary School and Franklinton Head Start. Out of an abundance of caution, both schools were placed on Lockdown. The shooting reportedly is unrelated to school activities, all students are safe, and no injuries have been reported. 

FPD Chief Justin Brown further reports that potential suspects have been identified and both FPD and WPSO are working to locate the suspects who are believed to no longer be in the area.
