Darrel Burdette Crain
July 19, 1941 - February 14, 2025
Darrel Burdette Crain, age 83 and a resident of Improve, Mississippi, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at his residence.
Darrell was a member of Stateline Missionary Baptist Church where he leaves behind a host of friends and family. He was a longtime electrician and worked at Bogalusa Paper Mill for 27 years until he retired. He especially enjoyed spending time with his Friday Night music family. Many memories were made during this time that he cherished. Even when he wasn’t feeling well he was always ready to go to “Friday Night Singing”.
Survived by: Wife of 58 years: Veona Sorrell Crain of Improve, MS; 2 Daughters: Jenine Tate (Bryan McDaniel) of Ransom, KS, Cindy Ginn and Roger of Tylertown, MS; 5 Grandchildren: Tyler Dillon (Joy), Kristen Beard (Brennen), Jamie Painter (Jeremy), Julie Stogner (Friend Blake Mobley), Mickey Ginn (Nicole); 13 Great grandchildren; 1 Great great granddaughter; 1 Sister: Elaine Smith of Pine; 1 Sister in law: Joyce Crain; Also a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Burdette and Phylonia Kennedy Crain, sister Lisa Crain, grandmother Lillie Kennedy and other family members.
Visitation will be at Stateline Missionary Baptist Church, 31384 Hwy 62, Franklinton, La 70438 on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 10:00 am until 1 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1 pm Monday with Bro. Trey Jenkins and Bro. Brent King officiating. Burial will follow in the Seal Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
