Obituary

Christian Tyrese Tate

January 3, 2005 - February 7, 2025

Christian Tyrese Tate was born on January 3, 2005, in New Orleans, LA to parents, James and Malissia Tate. Christian was a kind, humble young man who loved his friends and families, especially his sister, Therese. Christian was baptized at the age of three years old at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church. Our little Christian enjoyed the baptizing so much that he asked if “Magee could throw him in the pool again.”

Christian was a gifted drummer and started playing drums at age three, at which time he destroyed several toy drum kits. He started his formal drum lessons at five years old and was a master drummer at age eleven. He was also a talented vocalist, but he was too shy to perform. However, he recorded several studio tracks which he wrote and produced.

In addition to being a gifted musician, Christian was also a gifted athlete.  He played varsity football for all four years of high school. When Christian graduated from Livingston Collegiate Academy, he received a scholarship to play football at Central Methodist University in Missouri. While at CMU he transitioned to the Wrestling Team. At the time of his death, he was enrolled at Delgado and performing Mixed Martial Arts.
