William "Bill" Mizell
October 13, 1946 - January 31, 2025
William "Bill" Mizell, age 78, passed away Friday morning January 31, 2025 at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Reserve, LA after a lengthy illness. He was born near the Enon Community on October 13, 1946 and was known as Bill to his family, friends and others. He was a very giving and kind man with a big heart that loved his family. He became a Doctor of Osteopathy in June 1993, began his career at Doctors Hospital in Groves, TX in June 1994 and accepted into the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners in October 1994. Bill was an excellent and wise Doctor that served countless patients in Texas, New Mexico and other areas. He lived a great life and was always traveling. Adventures would be an understatement when trying to describe his life. From donkey basketball games to building and pastoring a church in Arkansas, he always lived life to the fullest. His daughters were the love of his life and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren only made his heart bigger.
Bill was a man of few words but when he spoke you listened. He was a Godly man that read his Bible daily, always traveling with his vitamins and Bible. Bill loved his brothers and sisters and they often went to him for advice because he was truly wise beyond his years. He had many accomplishments in his life. Serving his country in the United States Army, certified as an expert in rifles and grenades, was something he was forever proud of. Getting his pilot’s license, living in and visiting Mexico was a normal life for him but just a dream for many others. He will be missed and remembered by so many, including his three brothers that will carry on the Mizell name that Bill wore so proudly on his Doctor’s white lab coat.
