Rosa Lee Harry-White
September 2, 1934 - February 19, 2025
Rosa Lee Harry White was born on September 2, 1934, to the late Jason and Lottie Harry in Angie, Louisiana. On February 19, 2025, God dispatched an angel to her bedside to bring her home.
Rosa Lee was a devoted member of Wesley Ray United Methodist Church, where she actively served in various capacities. She was a dedicated member of the Usher Board, Chairperson of Tribe #5, a member of the United Methodist Women, the Willing Workers, and served on the Administrative Board.
She graduated from Wesley Ray High School in 1953 and continued her education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as well as the Penn Center in Beaufort, South Carolina.
On September 26, 1956, Rosa Lee married Joseph A. White, and their union was blessed with four children: Aquinas, Gregory, Wendy, and Vickie.
She dedicated 43 years of service as a committed and dependable employee at Pioneer Aerospace in Columbia, Mississippi, until her retirement. Additionally, she worked with the Pride and Hope Ministry, further demonstrating her dedication to serving others.
Her memory will live on through her family and numerous friends who cherished her deeply. She leaves behind her children, Aquinas (Kim) White, Gregory (Daphne) White, and Vickie (Willie) Johnson; her son-in-law, Bennie McGehee I; and her sister, Annie (Willie) Bishop. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandsons: Marcus Holmes I, Kenyon Holmes, Bennie McGehee II, Anthony (Brandi) White, Jawaan (Cabrina) Rountree, Gregory White II, Trey (Aijanae) Sartin, and seven granddaughters: Shantia (Scott) Morris, M’Kayla Fisher, Arica Ratcliff, Daphne Owens, Arianna White, Erica Sartin, and Reanna Robinson. She also leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren and a beloved fur grandpup, Zoey.
Rosa Lee is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gladys Harry, Thelma Harry, Charlene Harry, and Mamie Harry, as well as a bonus son, Famous (Carol) Johnson. She leaves behind a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her extended Georgia family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy White McGehee; her parents, Jason and Lottie Harry; her husband, Joseph White; her grandson, Kendrick Holmes; and her great-grandchildren, Malani White and Braylon Abernathy. She was also preceded by her sisters, Laura (Orell) Brown, Rovella (Luther) Martin, Christine (Jim) Magee, and Emma Harry; her brothers, Leroy Harry, Cleotha Harry, Ernest Harry, William (Dorothy) Harry, and Tillie Harry; and her bonus daughter, Debra Harry Gibson.
Services will be on February 28, 2025 at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church in Angie, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
