David Eugene Coke
February 16, 1944 - February 20, 2025
David Eugene Coke, age 81, was born on February 16, 1944 in Vivian, LA, passed away on February 20, 2025, in Hattiesburg, MS. David was a 1962 graduate of Columbia High School and later retired from AT&T as a communication specialist for President Bill Clinton. He had a pilot’s license and flew his own plane, took month long motorcycle trips, a classic car enthusiast, regularly tied his own flies for fly fishing, and was a trivia buff.
Mr. Coke was preceded in death by his parents Buster Mack Coke and Willie Louise Wilburn Coke.
David is survived by his wife Linda Warren Coke of Hattiesburg, MS; sister Dian Anthony of Darbon, MS; brother Mack (Anne Stone) Coke of Smithfield, VA, nieces and nephews Corey Legrande, Shelby Coke, Mike Anthony, Mack Anthony, Mitch Anthony, Thomas “Rusty” Fornea, Cullyn Brooks, Crystal Warren, Jessica Warren, Michael Warren Jr., Wesley Bainum, and Cully Bainum.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 12:00 noon until the service time of 2:00p.m. The Rev. Mary Rasch will officiate, and interment will take place in Old Fornea Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. David will be Thomas “Rusty” Fornea, Luke Fornea, Mike Warren, Roger Newman, Craig Lenieke, Jared Stafford.
