Sylvia Sue Crain Magee
November 18, 1934 - February 13, 2025
Sylvia Sue Crain Magee, age 90, passed away peacefully Thursday morning February 13, 2025 at Fidelis Residential Care in Mandeville. She was born in Bogalusa on November 18, 1934 and was a Franklinton High School graduate Class of 1953. Sue obtained an accounting certification from Southeastern Louisiana University and began a career as an accountant in the Southern Timber Division of Crown Zellerbach that spanned over 30 years, before retiring. She then served for many years as the director of the Pro Shop at Franklinton Country Club. Sue was an avid golfer and spent countless hours on the golf course alongside her beloved husband Robert and lady friends. Sue was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church; Franklinton where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Sue was an excellent cook and a big LSU sports fan. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Robert through the years and, after his passing, lunching with her close friends. Sue loved spending time with her family and following all the activities and sports of her great-nephews and great-nieces.

Crain and Cheri Crain of Madisonville, Wesley and Lilyn Crain of Lake Charles, Emily Crain Davis and Kevin Davis of Navarre Beach, FL, Damon and Tonya Crain of Deville, Christi Crain O’Quinn and Gerald O’Quinn of Ridgeland, SC;Beloved Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews and their families: Hillary Blalock, Mary Emily Leavell, William T. Crain, Michael Crain, Matthew Crain, Elizabeth Crain, Madison Crain, Gentry Crain, Grace Crain, Cliff O’Quinn, Hannah O’Quinn; Also numerous cousins and their families
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Robert J. “Nookie” Magee, parents Hillary Crain and Helen Williams Crain and a brother John Barry Crain.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday February 16th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Joey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery.
