Robert Jimmy Riley
September 18, 1944 - January 11, 2025
Robert Jimmy Riley, age 80 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Saturday morning January 11, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Covington. He was a member of Bonner Creek Baptist Church. Jimmy retired after a long career with the Washington/St. Tammany Electric Co-op serving in the Abita Springs and Slidell offices. He always enjoyed watching his children play the sports they loved and was very involved with youth athletics, including serving with the Abita Recreation Department and Covington High School Athletic Booster Club. Jimmy enjoyed woodworking making furniture and watching old Western TV shows and M.A.S.H. reruns. He liked farming, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. Jimmy was a devoted father and husband, taking great care of his wife during the difficult times in their life.
Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Priscilla and Kenneth Cooper, Stephanie and John Boudreaux all of Covington; Son and Daughter in law: Yancy and Misty Riley of Nashville, TN; 8 Grandchildren and Spouses: Kace Cooper Brittany Cooper, Kyle and Megan Cooper, Kody and Jeannette Cooper, Elizabeth and Andy Grantham, Riley and Alayna Boudreaux, Maddy and Tyson Blanks, Mclain and Braden Reece, Tate Riley; Great-grandchildren: Kaydence Cooper, Ava Cooper, Christian Cooper, Lily Cooper, Mason Cooper, Aidan Cooper, Bennett Cooper, Cooper Grantham, Anna Cooper, Grace Grantham, Briggs Cooper, Ellie Cooper, Levi Grantham, Aynslee Boudreaux, Beckham Blanks, Anglin Blanks, Rilynn Boudreaux, Avryee Boudreaux, Brooks Boudreaux; Brother and Sister in law: Tommy and Ann Riley of Pine; Sister: Betty Alford of Hammond; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Virgil Jenkins of Albany, Rev. Bill Russell of Anacoco, LA, Cheryl and Larkin Elliot of Magnolia, MS, Don and Romelda Tate of Hammond, Danny and Rita Tate of Amite; Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Lois Tate Riley, parents Robert Joseph Riley and Doyce Alford Riley, sister Angie Jenkins, father in law and mother in law Rev. Louie Tate and Evelyn Bankston Tate, brother in law Hughie Alford, sister in law Jan Russell and other family members.
