Ji’Eon Jervonne Douglas
August 18, 1994 - December 29, 2024
On December 29, 2024, Ji’Eon Jervonne Douglas, affectionately known as “Ji,” was surrounded by loved ones as he peacefully departed his earthly home at the young age of 30. He was born on April 18,1994 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to his parents, Ronnie and Tina Douglas-Cotton.
Ji was a proud graduate of the Bogalusa High School Class of 2014, where he briefly played for the mighty Lumberjacks football team.
Football and video gaming were among Ji’s greatest passions. His favorite football team was the Alabama Crimson Tide, and he admired Derrick Lamar Henry Jr. of the Baltimore Ravens as his favorite player. When he wasn’t gaming or watching football, Ji enjoyed catching a good wrestling match on television.
True to his last name, Ji had a knack for “talking noise” and loved sharing a delicious home-cooked meal with family and friends.
He was a faithful member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado, Louisiana, where he regularly attended services and occasionally taught Sunday School lessons.
Ji will be deeply missed by his father, Ronnie P. Cotton; his two brothers, Lamariel (Shaneca) Lewis of Bogalusa, LA, and Damariel Cotton of Oakland, CA; 3 nephews, D'Martez Harry Jr., Daylen Lewis, and Lamariel Lewis, Jr; a niece, D'Asia Peters; his father’s partner, Masha “Shay” Harper, and her two children, Aaliyah and Arthur White; and his best friend, Megion Parker. He also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Ji’Eon is preceded in death by his mother, Tina Douglas-Cotton; his maternal grandparents, Willie and Lynn B. Douglas; his maternal great-grandparents, Elsie Rudolph, Houston Bolton, David Douglas and Jessie Lee Douglas; his paternal grandparents, Truly and Viola Cotton; and his paternal great-grandparents, Charlie and Wilmer Moses Lewis, Dewitt Cotton, and Carrie Dillon.
