Obituary

E. L. King

August 13, 1950 - December 25, 2024

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid
up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."  II Timothy 4:7-8

Today we celebrate the home going service of Mr. E.L. (Waco) King. A loving and devoted brother, he thought he was the baby boy, but he was the second oldest son of 10 siblings.

E.L. was born August 13, 1950 to the late Jesse James (Smokie) King and Alberta Buckhanan King in Bogalusa, LA. He departed this life on December 25, 2024 at Our Lady of Angels in Bogalusa.

E.L. never met a stranger he befriended and loved many that crossed his paths in life. He was small in statue but a huge heart of gold. E.L. was a sweetheart and genuine. He was a real one. E.L. wore many hats as a brother aka (Goat), uncle, cousin, friend, aka (Waco) (Kang). He helped anyone that needed help. 

He leaves to mourn in his passing seven sisters, Jessica K. Green, Rosa K. Young, Linda K. (Ernie) Jones of New Orleans, LA, Patricia K. (Donald) Lewis, Sr., Shirley King, Ruthie (Wayne) Beauleu all of Bogalusa, LA, Tonie Holts Pittman of Sandy Hook, MS; three brothers, Minister Willie (Gaggie) King of New Orleans, LA, Randy (Laura) King, and Bernard J. Holts; one aunt, Emma Anderson of Los Angeles, CA; a very special sisters, Patricia K. Lewis and Rosa K. Young until her health declined; three dedicated nephews, Luther C. Whittine, Jr., Adrian T. King, and Devontre King; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

E.L. was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse J. and Alberta B. King. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 9:00AM - 12:00PM followed by the funeral service for 12:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Minister Terry Tate - Officiating. Interment - Ponemah Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
