Gerardo "Jerry" Beltran
June 22, 1966 - January 16, 2025
Gerardo "Jerry" Beltran, age 58 and a resident of the Thomas Community, passed away suddenly Thursday morning January 16, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center. He was born on June 22, 1966 in Del Rio, Texas and had lived in Washington Parish for the last 25 years after marrying into the Nielson family. He worked for several years on the large family dairy farm before its closure. Jerry was a longtime employee at Winn-Dixie Supermarket in Franklinton and also worked for Powerhouse at Ace Hardware for a time. He enjoyed taking care of things around the house like feeding his dogs and working in his yard. Jerry was a big football fan, especially the New Orleans Saints, and he loved watching and talking about soccer with his son. He and his wife were devoted parents and traveled often to his soccer practices and games, wherever that may be. Jerry will be forever missed by all his family and friends.
Survived by: Wife: Jennifer Nielson Beltran of Thomas; Son: Ian Beltran of Thomas; Brother and Sister in law: Arturo Beltran, Jr. and Maria Beltran; Sisters and a Brother in law: Irma Beltran, Beckie and Mark Giannacco; Nephews and Nieces: Adrian “Buddy” Beltran, Arturo “Junior” Beltran, III, Cassandra and David Vaughn, Giannina “Gia” Giannacco; Also numerous great-nieces and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents Arturo Beltran, Sr. and Irma Graciela Mendoza Beltran, his grandparents, father in law and mother in law Leroy and Lois Nielson and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday January 18th from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 pm Saturday with Eld. Duane Ball officiating.
