Wilton Dunaway Wins Bogalusa City Council Race

Complete but unofficial results from the Louisiana Secretary of State for the election held on December 7, 2024 show that Wilton R. Dunaway has won the District B Bogalusa City Council seat. Dunaway received 201 votes and Marilyn D. Lott received 183 votes. Voter turnout was 25.1%. The seat was vacant due to the death of Dr. Danielle Keys, who passed away on April 2, 2024. Michael Oree was appointed to serve in the interim and until this election.

Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Z. Truong campaigned heavily for Lott, noting that District B is his home District. Truong even offered to personally provide people a ride to the polls. However, in the end, District B voters elected Wilton Dunaway to represent them. Congratulations, Mr. Dunaway. Mr. Dunaway will serve until January 1, 2027, at which time the terms of the Bogalusa Mayor and all City Council members will expire.
