Roger Eugene White

January 8, 1954 - December 1, 2024

Roger Eugene White, age 70, died on December 1, 2024 in Baton Rouge, LA at his home.  He was born in Bogalusa, LA on January 8, 1954 to Julious Jewell White, Jr. and Betty Branch White.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathleen “Gayle” Sarka White, his children Ryan Eugene and Regan Emily White, and a granddaughter Abigail Emma White. He was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling, his brother Julious Jewell White III.

He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.  During his time in college, he became a National and International Powerlifting Champion.  He was also an avid deer and turkey hunter as well as an avid LSU fan.

Upon graduating from college, he started his lifelong dream of becoming a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation serving 29 years in cities such as New Orleans, Cincinnati, Dayton, Washington D.C., Jackson, and Baton Rouge, Where he retired in 2004.  In 2006 he was re-employed by the United States Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General where he served in Baton Rouge until 2012, a law enforcement career spanning over 36 years.

Services to celebrate Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home, in Bogalusa, LA at 2:00 pm.  The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery immediately after the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to your favorite animal rescue charity.
