Homer Jarrell, Jr.
April 18, 1959 - December 28, 2024
Homer Jarrell, Jr., age 65 and a resident of Pine, passed away Saturday evening December 28, 2024 at his home. He enjoyed woodworking, making swings, slat traps and other items that he sold. Homer loved fishing, and had even earned the nickname “Cat Daddy” for his expertise in catching catfish in the Pearl River. He and his friends and family would go to Indian Village and then spend countless hours catching fish. Homer would even go watch the river every morning, while enjoying coffee and breakfast at Richardson Landing, often taking his grandson along. He also enjoyed hunting earlier in life and loved spending time with his family.
Survived by: Son and Daughter in law: Chad and Sandra Jarrell of Pine; Grandchildren: Kaden and Madelyn; Sisters and Brothers in law: Brenda and Tony Nunnery, Bernesie Jarrell and Johnny Tarver all of Franklinton; Nieces and Nephews: April and Sam Williams and their son Kaleb, John Tarver, Levi Tarver, Brittany Williams and her daughter Larrel; Step-daughter: Dolly Lee and her daughter River; Also numerous cousins, other family members and friends
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Miley, parents Homer Jarrell, Sr. and Bobbie Jean Jenkins Jarrell, great-nieces Mikalah Polk, Kailyn Polk and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday December 31st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Eld. Gerald Givens officiating. Burial will follow in the Midway Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
