The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office advised today (December 6, 2024) that they have arrested two persons in the latest Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force activity.
- 1. Oran Joseph Thomas, age 45 and of Lafayette, was booked this week on one count each of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor, and Attempted Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. Thomas, a registered Tier 1 Sex Offender from a sex crime involving a child in 2010, was arrested after he not only engaged in illegal sexual conversations with what he believed to be a child for several days but also when he arrived in Hammond from Lafayette on Thursday, December 5, to meet for sex.
- 2. Joshua Landry, age 35 and of Hammond, has been booked on one count each of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor. Landry’s arrest comes after he engaged in illegal sexual conversations with what he believed to be a child for several days.
This activity is part of TPSO’s partnership with Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office and their ICAC Task Force which includes a collaboration with numerous local law enforcement agencies.
