Internet Sex Crimes Task Force Makes New Arrests in Tangipahoa Parish

The  Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office advised today (December 6, 2024) that they have arrested two persons in the latest Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force activity.

  • 1. Oran Joseph Thomas, age 45 and of Lafayette, was booked this week on one count each of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor, and Attempted Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. Thomas, a registered Tier 1 Sex Offender from a sex crime involving a child in 2010, was arrested after he not only engaged in illegal sexual conversations with what he believed to be a child for several days but also when he arrived in Hammond from Lafayette on Thursday, December 5, to meet for sex.

  • 2. Joshua Landry, age 35 and of Hammond, has been booked on one count each of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor. Landry’s arrest comes after he engaged in illegal sexual conversations with what he believed to be a child for several days. 

This activity is part of TPSO’s partnership with Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office and their ICAC Task Force which includes a collaboration with numerous local law enforcement agencies.
