Albert Abe Magee, Sr.

July 30, 1952 - November 12, 2024

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   John 3:16

Albert Abe Magee, Sr. was born to the late Brunell Benton Magee and Gussie Lee Magee on July 30, 1952.  He was the seventh born of eight children. He became a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church at a young age.

While working in a summer program for high school students at Riverside Hospital, he met the love of his life Mae Francis Ramsey of Mt. Herman.  On June 30, 1973, they were married and soon after started a family.  To this blessed union they had three children. He was employed at Gaylord (International Paper) Chemical Plant for 32 years.  He retired as a service operator on the Number 8 paper machine.  He received great joy from helping others in his community. He was affectionately known as “Albert A".

Albert Abe Magee, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Brunell and Gussie Magee; as well as 3 brothers, James Magee, Edward Charles Magee, and Edgar Magee; and angel grandbaby, BJ.  

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mae Francis Magee; two sons, Albert (Yolanda) Magee, Jr. of Arlington, Texas and Benton Magee of Franklinton, LA; one daughter, Shenika (Marvin) Taylor of Hammond, LA; six grandchildren, William Monk, Alisa Magee, Kiauna Conley, Alajah Magee, Makiya Taylor and a granddaughter/bonus daughter, Ja’miah Alexander.  He also leaves behind four siblings, Rev. Larry (Marilyn) Magee of Franklinton, LA, Runell (Nora) Magee of Renton, WA, Calvin (Almeta) Magee of Franklinton, LA, and Winona James of Franklinton, LA; godchildren, Kenneth (Jenay) Martin II and Latondra Warren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM followed by the funeral service for 11:00AM at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Causey, Sr. – Pastor Officiating. Interment – Brunell Magee Cemetery.
