Anita "Denise" Kennedy McKenzie

September 21, 1957 - November 22, 2024

Anita “Denise” Kennedy McKenzie, age 67 and of Angie, Louisiana, passed away November 22, 2024.

There is a song that includes the lyrics, “The sweetest gift, A Mother’s Smile”. These words describe my Mom.  She had a beautiful smile that was contagious! When she entered a room her smile lit it up. Mom had many friends near and far because wherever she went, she never met a stranger. 

When it was her time, I gave her up so that Dusty could welcome our sweet mother into Heaven. She was so ready to meet her Savior and see Daddy and Dusty again. 

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Donna (Charlie) Chastant, six grandchildren, Kaleb Miller of Denham Springs, Kaden Miller of Franklinton, Macie McKenzie of Bogalusa, Daylon Mckenzie of Bogalusa, Christa Chastant of Bogalusa, Cayman Chastant of Pensacola, FL; three great grandchildren, Bryson, Addilyn and Madelyn. 

Other surviving family, one sister, Patricia Pittman of Hickory, N.C.; one brother David (Tami) Seal of Bogalusa, LA; two sisters- in-law, Dianne (Wayne) Taylor of Pine, LA., Debbie (Val) Haaga of Bogalusa, LA; two brothers-in- law, Herbert (Leslie) McKenzie of Pine, LA., and David (Sharon) McKenzie of Goldsboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bryce and Ruth Crain Kennedy; husband, Donald B. McKenzie; son, Dustin B. McKenzie; one brother, Richard L. Seal; brothers-in-law, Dail Pittman, Lewis Murray, III; and one sister-in-law, Peggy McKenzie.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  

Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory in Bogalusa, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
