Roger Dean Morgan

June 3, 1956 - November 11, 2024

Roger Dean Morgan, age 68 and a resident of Folsom, died Monday afternoon November 11, 2024. He was born on June 3, 1956 and was a native and former longtime resident of the rural Franklinton area. Roger worked as a truck driver for many years and more recently worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was also a farmer through the years, growing and selling watermelons and hay and while also raising Longhorn beef cattle. Roger was talented with his hands and could build just about anything. He was a fireman for many years with the Bonner Creek VFD, where he helped to construct the new fire stations as well the radio communications tower for the department. Roger loved to visit with his family, friends and even people he just met and he was always a great story teller.

Survived by: Wife and Best Friend: Dawn Bahm of Folsom; Son and Daughter in law: Clinton Levi and Brandie Morgan of Covington; Daughter: Erica Payne of Freeport, FL; Grandchildren: Cecilia, Thomas, Phillip, Owen, Jacob, Luke; 4 Sisters and Brothers in law: Heidi Morgan, Cindy and Alan Laurent, Theresa Renee Morgan, Natasha and Timmy Crockett; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends

He was preceded in death by his parents Clayton Morgan and Ruth Carter Morgan, grandparents Iddo Morgan and Della Givens Morgan, Lavern Carter and Gertrude Rushing Carter.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Sunday November 17th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Clark Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the San Pedro Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
