Back in July, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents contacted the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) regarding the distribution of large volumes of high-grade marijuana by a group of residents from Hammond, Ponchatoula, and Roseland.
Following joint investigative efforts, on October 15, TPSO Narcotics detectives teamed up with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO), Hammond Police Department (HPD), DEA and Homeland Security Investigators to serve warrants on two homes and a business.
At the homes on Estate Circle in Hammond and Prokop Road in Albany, several pounds of marijuana and other drugs were discovered. Then at a music studio on South Morrison Boulevard in Hammond, investigators found more high-levels of marijuana, transporting and packaging materials, scales, and guns, one reported stolen from St. Helena Parish.
In total, investigators have also seized more than $100,000. The investigation remains active.
